Front Sight’s Proven Training Methods Apply to Anything You Choose to Learn

If you did not order your Dry Practice Manual offered in earlier Gun Training Reports, here is a sample of the 112 pages of technique description and photos we provide in it.

Front Sight’s Five Step Presentation from the Holster is the fastest and safest method of presenting a handgun.

We have proven our presentation is the safest method with millions and millions of rounds fired over the last ten years by tens of thousands of students — many who had never fired a gun before attending a course at Front Sight.

We have also proven our presentation is the fastest method through our Handgun Combat Master Prep Courses. This is where students are trained to deliver first-round center hits into a hostage taker’s cranio-ocular cavity (about the size of a business card) from 10 yards away in less than 2 seconds! Yes, it is true and with our training you can do it too!

In order to shoot on demand to this exceptionally level, your presentation from the holster must be flawlessly smooth. It must have no wasted motion (making it extremely fast) to give you the needed time at the top of your draw stroke to see a perfect flash of the sight picture as you press the trigger without disrupting the sight alignment.

Here is the Five Step Presentation from the Holster we teach and perfect in you at Front Sight.

Count 1 On Count 1 of the presentation the firing hand secures a firing grip on the weapon while the support hand touches flat to the abdomen.

Count 2 On Count 2 of the presentation the weapon is lifted straight up until it just clears the top of the holster. The trigger finger is straight and the 1911 safety is on. The support hand is still flat against the abdomen.

Count 3 On Count 3 the firing side elbow drops and the muzzle points directly toward the target. The support hand is still flat against the abdomen. The trigger finger is straight and the 1911 safety is on.

Count 4 On Count 4 the weapon starts toward the target and the support hand establishes the proper grip. The muzzle never covers any part of the body. The trigger finger is still straight. The 1911 safety is disengaged once the hands come together.

Count 5 On Count 5 the weapon is at eye level and the finger is on the trigger.

A very common cognition that our students realize in their first course at Front Sight is that they are experiencing an extremely well organized, fine tuned, and proven training method that is dramatically shortening their learning curve and bringing them to a level of skill much faster than they ever imagined.

For many of our students, this is their first exposure to such a fun and dynamic method of learning. After, completing their first course they are truly a different person, knowing that they can apply the Front Sight system of training to everything they do for the rest of their lives.

Front Sight’s training system incorporates a number of key elements including Demonstration, Repetition, Consistency, and Perfection.
